T. S. Henson Builders' principal owner, Steve Henson, is well known on Bald Head Island and across North Carolina for his broad knowledge of construction, having been in this industry for more than 30 years. His homes are solidly built to withstand the coastal environment, and exhibit meticulous attention to detail. Living on Bald Head Island, where his business is based, gives Steve a unique insight into the coastal island lifestyle that is reflected in his homes. Steve has built approximately 35 luxury homes over the 8+ years that he has been building on Bald Head Island, and has completed many renovations including the Post Office addition for the Village of Bald Head Island.

Steve and his wife, Robin, are committed to the island and to its community. They are members of the BHI Yacht Club, Bald Head Island Country Club and the BHI Conservancy. T. S. Henson Builders is a member in good standing of the National Association of Home Builders, the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the Brunswick County Home Builders Association.

Steve's experience in construction goes back three decades as he worked his way through school, ultimately started his company in 1987. With a hands-on approach, Steve began as a homebuilder and then did a number of projects from West Virginia to South Florida, including hurricane repair, government projects, and land development.

Eventually, Steve discovered Bald Head Island, which called him back to his real passion - building spectacular homes. Building homes on Bald Head has been very rewarding for Steve. The unique island styles allow Steve to utilize his multifaceted background to create distinctive homes that reflect the needs and desires of each client.

Steve is the person that you can trust with your Island home dreams. He and Robin have been married for 25 years and have raised 2 wonderful children. Steve is a veteran of the United States Naval Armed Forces and a member of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC. Steve has always loved the water, which drew him to Bald Head. He is a charter boat captain and an avid fisherman and diver. He also is a private pilot with an instrument rating, and is currently working towards his commercial license.
